Still yet to go anywhere but Estaminet, since i've just arrived and found every long queue Aberdeen has to offer, BUT: every single bouncer i've talked to - bar none - has been cordial, patient and polite when spoken to in a normal way. You guys and girls have it lucky up here i'm tellin you. The guy working the line at Babylon took his time out from being heckled and bribed to give me a rundown of the other clubs in town we were likely to get into given the time of night & our attire: pretty nifty service for someone whose job description is basically "goon".

And when the wannabe's form yesteryear are too old for Blu bar and Paramount, where do they end up? Yup, upstairs from the College in what looks like the interior from a haunted house ride at Disney land. This is the Blu bar in 10 years time!

Definitely a good choice of venue for a Saturday night if only they'd learn to hire decent bar staff!
The bar staff are the worst in Aberdeen.

i think the bouncers at babylon are fine, can't see what the problem is. they've always been polite to everyone from what we've seen while queueing, and always get a smile and a "Goodnight" when we leave. one of the only places we go were we don't think the bouncers are knobs!!
bar is nice too, love the layout and the tunes are always good. can get pretty busy though, and you do get a few sleazes in suits cracking onto you, but thats to be expected. have never seen hassle in the place which is one of the reasons we go there. if only the bar prices weren't so high the place would be great. X

Not a bad club but the stewards act like mini Hitlers- complete attitude problem!!
Inside it is full of decent folk, never seen a fight in there yet!
Booze is a bit pricey but drinks usually ice cold.
Ridiculously busy on a Sat night but where is not?
The management have invested in Air-con and actually use it but again unless you are a big breasted blonde then expect ATTITUDE from the loser doormen on the front-pity!

The welcome into Babylon is friendly enough, but pretty much typical for Aberdeen doorstaff with the proverbial chip on their shoulder.
Upstairs is split into two levels with a bar in each. The bigger bar upstairs is a nightmare to get served, unless you are of the female persuasion. The smaller bar is similar in size to the back bar in Paramount and seemed to be a bit easier to get a drink, which are slightly more expensive than other venues in the city. There are a lot of seating areas and we had no problem getting seats beside the dancefloor. Which was nice. All in all it's quite relaxed.
I was delighted that there was not a bam nor an item of Burberry to be seen at all. Clientelle seem pretty much of the same attitude - just there to have a good laugh and a few drinkies.
In summary, it is a good venue, albeit away from the better bars on Belmont St. However, despite the fact that the prices are a little steeper than elsewhere, I do not mind paying such prices when the atmosphere and surroundings are as pleasant as they are at Babylon.
