Reviewers' Guide
Welcome to NightB4, your guide to pubs and clubs throughout the world.
Guides can be written for towns and cities of any size, from major world capitals, to sleepy seaside towns. NightB4 guides are written by anyone who feels they can, and we will consider anyone wishing to write a guide for their own town or city. Reviews are based on your personal opinion, or those of you and your friends, so we want them to be honest, funny and casual, most things go so long as it is not libellous (we really don't want to be sued).
If you think you could write some good reviews for your hometown or city but know nothing about writing Internet pages don't worry, this is who NightB4 is aimed at. We provide a web based interface, so you can type in the review, press enter and 'voila', all the code is generated for you, so you don't have to worry about coding anything; even the maps are automatically generated. The same system will also help you to update the site - eg for the club nights, you only have to enter the information once for regular nights and the system will automatically show the information for every week.
We don't expect you to start your guide with a review of every pub and club in your town or city, and there can be more than one reviewer for each town and city (this will depend on the size of the town as we don't expect a city of several million to be covered by one person, but at the same time, having 10 reviewers for a town of 10,000 will just lead to them arguing over how to review a pub or club, after all, everyone has different viewpoints). We would like it though if there was at least a listing of the majority of the good pubs and clubs with their contact information, and so reviews can be added as you find the time. We would like it if the cities were kept up to date as much as possible, after all, people will be using the site to plan nights out.
So what do you get out of this? Well, we are just starting this site and so have no funding for it at the moment - we're paying for it out of our own pockets. If you think we're getting rich off this and keeping all the money for ourselves, I'm afraid not - I'm still working in a local supermarket stocking shelves, and believe me, I would NOT be doing that if I was making a lot of money. As a result we can't pay the reviewers, however this does not mean you give all and don't get anything.
The intention is to get the site more popular and more widely known before trying to make money from the site. We have various plans which could be used to make money once it is popular. We are considering methods of allowing admins to place their own adverts on their city pages, so if you can get local companies who want to advertise, then you can keep a majority percentage of this money.
Another idea could be to sell webspace under the nightb4.com domain and including free advertising with the accounts. This would be especially attractive for anyone who has a website related to nightlife in general. Of course, if the admins got people to sign up, they'd get comission.
These are only a couple of examples of what could be done, as ever, we are open to suggestions from admins.
Writing for NightB4 should be considered as an investment, but instead of money you are investing your time. You're booking your place to be involved with NightB4 in your city - someone else could easily take your place.
