Mojamo - Popped in for 1 on part of our bar crawl. @ £1.50 per drink on a Saturday night you really cant complain! Wasnt too busy nor too quiet, worth stopping in for 1 or 2 but wouldnt spend much longer here unless your out on a budget!

Yes, Mojama stormed onto Sauchiehall Street like a big, bright red Austin Powers set, complete with chandeliers and funky red chairs! But it has since descended into a grubby, unkempt students union, complete with dirty, sticky tables and indifferent staff. Even the chandeliers have lost interest and no longer even have bulbs in them. They now do ludicrously cheap drinks promos, which is packing them in on weekdays, but this comes accross as one last desperate attempt to squeeze some cash out of the place before it finally goes bust. What a waste of what was once the most strikingly different and promising new venue on Sauchiehall.

Mojama (formerly known as Babushka) never quite appealed to me on the off-set cause i hate the color pink, and let me tell you, there is a lot of pink in this bar! :-p
Leaving the dodgy colors aside, i was tempted into this bar once by a friend who was wanting to try something different. So reluctantly i walked in to this place. The night went fine. The bar staff are friendly, the music is chilled and combines well with the decor, the drinks were reasonably priced, for sauchiehal street, and the comfy seating was welcomed. Yet i couldnt stop thinking of pink!
The color is very off-putting if one (like me) hates pink. However after a few cocktails (which i will add are very good and well priced) a few pints and a few pricey vodka mixers the color was becoming less of a problem, but one problem led to another, the toilets.
Never in my life (except probably in Bargo) have i travelled so far in a bar to go for a pee! Infact upon returning from my journey i felt the second wave coming! I couldnt bear the hike again so i kept it in for a while.
Overall Mojama is a very pink relaxed pub where sitting down with friends for a chat is not a problem. Just dont "open the valve" until you HAVE to! - Above Average drinking establishment

I found Logic a wee bit sterile. It never really seemed to take off. But when I saw the latest incarnation in the form of BABUSHKA - I thought - yes - this is exactly what Glasgow needs. It's nice to see some good, original design with the money to support it. It is a work of art. The music compliments the interior and the drinks are re-assuringly expensive and pretentious. Er... hang on a minute - that last bit wasn't such a good thing. But then you can't expect to lounge in an Austin Powers film-set without paying that wee ibt extra to keep non-grrovy swingers out on Sauchiehall Street where they belong. Bordering on pretentious, but with enough character to pull it off, Babushka is what people imagine London was like in the 1970s. Whether it really was doesn't really matter - this pub turns heads. Sit inside and people watch if you don't beleive me. Nine out of ten! Yeah, baby!

Last year when Logic closed down I felt I had lost a good and reliable friend. I'd been going there every weekend since they opened and felt that no bar in the city could give me the same vibe and make me feel more at home.
I have been missing the place ever since.
On Friday night i ventured back to the newly refurbished Logic, now renamed Babushka and part of a bigger chain of trendy bars mostly located in London. From being white and steel with wooden details the domed bar has been turned into a saucy kitchfest. a blend of bordello and seventies kitch that would make Shaft green with envy. The interior is a rich mix of cherry red, cream and burgundy. The skylights are filled with two gorgeous chandeliers to give a top up to the decadent feel of the place. "The mothership" at the back end of the room is still there and will give you and your friends a place to book for those big nights out. It is now a red edged "pod" with fixed seating for about 30 people for intimate gatherings. Must be seen to be believed
The huge slanted windows of the glass front gives you a good chance of showing your talent to the passer by on the street as well as that gorgeous person in the bar. If the talent isn't enough to entertain you there is plans to show visuals in the spirit of the decadent seventies.
On a personal note my favourite female bartender is also still there and still makes my heart beat faster. Now if I could only get around to asking her her name
You down your coctails and flavoured vodkas in a mix of curvy fixed seating in the same lush burgundy colours or take a seat in vintage seventies chairs around round tables. All drinks are brought to your table if the seating proves to deep.
Prices are tolerable with a pint of Budweiser -yes they do have it on tap ;) is 2,50, a single coctail is 4.90 and a coctail pitcher is 11 pounds. The flavoured vodkas clock in at £2.
According to rumours the bar will feature great talent on the DJ front as well. I was there friday night, and the music was absolutely brilliant. A blend of funky and jazzy house that complemented the look of the place. The vibe was an exited buzz, lots of good talent but still just right, not jam packed to the point where you have to go outside to change your mind.
A brand new food menu is also on the way with shared platters dinners and snacks amongst the culinary delights.
I will definately be back on the weekend. Maybe you should give it a try as well. If you do then don't forget to say hi. I'm the guy in the yellow Judge Jules style glasses bopping my head to the music.
