A great cinema for seeing rare and random films, especially in their themed seasons. Unfortunately, the seating at the GFT is about on par with the gallery in the Kings' theatre - ie, incredible cramped. I'm a six foot guy, and when I'm at the GFT my knees are wedged against the backs of the seats in front of me, which really isn't the most comfortable of positions. The GFT has two cinemas: 1, which is large and vaguely theatre-like, and 2 which is small and somewhat more cramped. The interior decor is old-fashioned - lots of wood and brass, a small but nicely-outfitted cafe/bar, and authentic mechanical ticket machines in the box offices. On the whole, a rather pleasant alternative to the UGC and Odeon ... although I'd still choose the UGC over the GFT if a film were to be shown in both, mostly for comfort reasons.

Now program times vary in proportion to volume of adverts. Always expected this with mainstream "plexes" but thought that when supporting local charity that I would at least know when to turn up for film. Sign of the times?Bit of a shame really
