Great pub. Friendly environment, alright music, loads of character, good drink, apparently good food.

good real beer though tends to stay the same expensive for normal lagers staff sometimes ok

£3.50 for the best damn chilli burger I have ever tasted is not what I would call expensive?!... great wee pub, nice staff, always busy at lunch time because the food is excellent for the price! and is served quickly too. Decent enough Pint, better than the usual "chain" pubs scattered throughout the town.

I would probably agree with most of what is below about this pub.However,I think that all the reporters must be millionaires as none of them mention the mega-extortionate prices which is why I can only afford to go in here about once a year.

This is a great pub, great beer good staff and the food is excellent too!
Can't wait for the smoking ban to come in though as the one down side is the ventilation. A couple of hours in here and your clothes smell like you've been dragged through an ashtray!

great food and drink, i know a man, who shall remain nameless for his own safety, that shat himself in that pub.he wasnt happy.he went to his parents house, hosed himself down, borrowed a pair of his dads pants and went back out on the swallie

Allways been a great old boozer this place. Mostly friendly punters, good music and OK grub. Well worth a visit.

The Phoenix is an old fasioned boozer with an excellent selection of real ales, bottles and spirits! The food is excellent and very keenly priced. This is a must for anyone who likes a proper traditional bar!

Dark,Dank,Depressing and thats just the decor but an alright pub for a few drinks.Seriously couldnt stay in this pub all night though,but its alright
