Great pub for real ales, and the food is pretty good too!

Nice pint of Guiness if you can stand drinking it next to boring beardy dungeon and dragon minks who reek of damp wool. The toilet requires an OS map to find. Its a bit of a weird shape so its easy to steal stuff without being noticed.

Smart but comfortable bar with excellent choice of beers and superb food, both quantity and quality. Usually there or thereabouts in the local CAMRA pub of the year awards

nope...just don't get y this place is popular....female staff don't seem to be arsed..went there 2 sat afternoons ago for some grub....and honestly the service is some of the worst I have ever had the misfortune to receive..and the food...well I have never been a raver and won't be raving about here in a hurry.
p.s. you need a beard to get in..that goes for the ladies too....saying that i don't recall seeing any in there....queer ale anyone?

blackfriars is decent for a pint and a burger thru the day, friendly bar staff and generally a nice wee place!
