Contrary to a previous review, the restaurant recieves regular praise from customers old and new. The food and service are second to none and the cutlery and serving apparatus is always sparkling!!!!!! I would recommend the george to everyone looking for a warm welcome!!!!! yours sincerely, a loyal customer.

Went in here for a meal during the Viking festival. I can see why the Vikings all fucked off back to wherever they came from!

I have never really seen the attraction of this pub. its a bit of a dark and dingy hole with less atmosphere than outer space. Give it a mis and try Charlie Smiths or McCabes

Great pub which boasts a great atmosphere. Staff are all friendly - food is excellent with ample portions - the new non-smoking restaurant also looks set to be a success

it's ok i guess, most of the staff are friendly but not all, i believe the food is sloppy prepared, table setting isn't that good either, the plate on which the food was served had old food hardened into the sides and the cutlery had small hardened food marks aswell, the tablecloths had a massive wine stain aswell. i've eaten in there a few times but it has slowly been degrading and although the food was nice the first couple of times it has gotten worse, the chefs seem to be getting worse and worse. what used to be a good pub/restaurant has now turned into a very second rate pub/restaurant. only the restaurant part tho, the pub is very good. a shame tho, i say that they convert it into a full time pub, it'd make it a whole lot better. i'm sorry to the chefs but i think it's time to find a new occupation.

Having eaten at The George several times I can highly recommend it. The food is excellent - especially the mushroom stroganoff - and the portions ample. It is reasonably priced at lunctimes though a bit dearer at night. It is the place I take any visitors to Largs.
