normally i stay well away from ponanas cos im not really into the pony-holiday in-barbados-big-hair-bad-shirt-ya-ya scene BUT since this new nights been set up on mondays with proper hiphop - real stuff, keeping the light rnb to a minimum, its actually worth risking the place for. just a tip - go get drinking in one of the pubs on rose st first tho - costs way too much in ponana.

RRRSE's review does reflect a good percentage of Po Na Na regulars who enjoy the place and have a good time.

I have only been on 3 occasions, and thoroughly enjoyed each one. Nice punters, friendly staff and outstanding music. The only problem is that it get overcrowded and the bouncers can sometimes be a problem.

RRRSE, just to let you know, I used to work in various bars and clubs in Edinburgh. It is true that a good number of Ya's do come from England, but I have also met an equal number of pretentious rich snobs from other parts of the world, including Scotland!

Well I have been there a few times and in all honesty.. I LOVE IT!!!

Door staff are different but provide a safe environment to party the night away, which in my opinion is a bonus!!!

The staff are friendly and always full of good chat, and recognise regular frequenters, which gets me served in front of those upidy Ya's from England...WINNER!!!!

At the moment there is a problem with norwegians who seem to thing they own the place, but if you can stay away from the sleesiest men in the world then its worth a laugh just to se their dress sense and hair styles!!!!

always have a great night out here, in fact it's the only club i would consider going to at the weekends. Hassle free...no scumbags...and the tunes are shit hot!

Be honest guys, Pon Na Na's is pretty shit. Arsey bouncers, yah's galore and inflationary drink prices. And how can they justify a £5 tax on the door after 12? I mean the place is just a poky, glorified bar masquerading as a club!

On this occasion, the need to join forces with my club & pub slagging arch rival, Peeedo, is overwhelming. This place has about the same appeal as a massive Sunday roast the day after a hard nights clubbing! Nah, scrub that - I'd eat MY roast, HER roast AND a bowl of jellied eels before I'd frequent this skank infested piss dungeon. As for the bouncers, well come on folks, ye know what I'm getting at? - "too many guys inside," is there? I'm surprised there's any fucker in there at all. Have you ever given some thought to the concept of letting people in to your club. This way, you can beef up the heating and roast all the neutered rugby-playing chufty plugs into buying some drinks. Everyone's a winner! Fuckin chill ya fudds!

If your name isn't Helena or Hugh you'll probably find this the most unpleasant club in Edinburgh.
