i made the unfortunate mistake of visiting the garage 3 weeks ago (a friends choice-not mine). all i can say is, if bouncers with god complexes and bar staff with the highest level of arrogance possible are your thing then you will have a great time here! i was rudely TOLD to show my identification at the door (im 30). after close inspection of my passport, the bouncer threw it at me. his manner was disgusting. i stupidly proceeded to approach the empty bar, where i was stared at and ignored for over 10 minutes before leaving - along with a mental note to self never to come near this "establishment" again.

i am a 25 year old professional woman. i went to see kill hannah on 27/10/08. i made my way to the bar while the first support band were on to purchase a beverage. i was asked for identification by a male and female who looked like they had just finished secondry school. i have never been asked for ID since i was 18. when i told the blonde "lady" i was 25, her attitude was appalling. she told me i looked 14 and turned her back on me. i understand the venues concerns with underage drinking, for a start i look my age, if not a bit older, and secondly they did not have any concerns serving me in april when i saw kill hannah. the bar was deserted that night as the venue was full of pubescent teenagers that were too young to drink - i was clearly there to pass a couple of minutes of entertainment for them judging by their attitudes and sniggering.i don't care what band is playing the garage, i certainly won't be back!

I simply Love the Garage so far, im a Newbe, but can see myself having many a drunken dance and snog in its walls

A lot of people have said about the bouncers being arses, but iv never had one problem at all. As long as u have the right ID they simply do their job


The rooms are all emense, and there is a gr8 atmosphere, where you never feel intimidated or nervious around others

The first (and last time) I ever went to go here I was refused entry on the basis of the bouncer "Not knowing" my face! What a twat. They just have this need to exercise what little power they have over people. Plus, the management at the Garage have refused to reply to SIX messages I have sent them about the incident. VERY professional.

I'm 20 and I feel too old for the Garage.

The main club parts are just plain shit. It has a couple of nice additions on the side (cocktail bar), but realistically it's focused on a couple of ugly main rooms with inadequate toilet facilities that are invariably ankle-deep in piss and sick by 2am.

Can't fault the staff, but the people there are boring and not particularly friendly. Nobody seems to interact. You also get the occasional rough sorts getting past the door, which just makes the place seem yet more downmarket.

Leave it for the kids that don't know any better; if you're in any way discerning, go elsewhere.

The Garage is a great laugh. It's Stufdent heaven. Play all sorts of music a mixture of Chart and old tracks. Great for a girls night out. So So warm inside though don't bother doing your hair. The Bar is cheap, the crowd is young. Good wee cocktail bar at the back that's usually quick to get served in. Students everywhere.

This is the best club to go to. It probably depends on who you go with/what night you go but every time I go there I have a great night. Couple of the bouncers can be assholes but all in all it's always a fun night, cheap drinks & great music.

garage is a good night - but you have to be drinking to enjoy it! best night is easily a thursday!

Good club! All different kind of music, the 1st time i was in here was a sun nite last year it was good but vickys is a much better option for a sun. I was in here again in april and was fightin with this ugly bastard fella!! i bate him but the place is so big that u could get ur fuck knocked in b4 a bouncer even knows there is a fight!! if ur lookin for somewhere that plays a good mixture of music then here is the place for u!

students students and more students! oh wot fun! NOT! they take advantage of the crappy cheap vodka and buy 14 at a time so it takes you ages to get served! this is annoying! is some nice skirt in sometimes though there can also be alot of fat birds so keep on your toes!
