post refurb catty is great, much less sticky and more up to date. Lets face it, 14 years is a long time in anyones books, never mind 14 years of a club that's open 4 or 5 nights a week. Find me 14 years down the line and i'll need a good old refurb too!

It's not as scary as poeple think, the reputation the catty has is the same as ten years ago. It frustrates me that people can be so stuck in their ways that they don't try places like this.

I'm not your typical catty punter, i don't wear black, live in a world of heavy metal or fit into any of the other traditional stereotypes that you may have but every time i'm there i have a fucking brilliant night. The regulars are friendly, i've never seen any bother, the smoking cage is a god send, the drinks are cheap and to be quite honest the music is a little hit or miss but there's always a higher percentage of tunes i like rather than dislike.

I just do not get it!!! What is the point in calling somewhere the CATHOUSE? I took my cat with me and was refused entry! I had 2 hide it in my newrocks but unfortunately i couldn't get them back on so i settled for tieing her to the lamp post out side, n wen i cam bk to collect her she had a parking ticket stuck tae her brew, the cheek so it was an expensive night, n only wanted ma wee cat tae have a good night out! I'd like to use this as the chance to warn all other cat lovers out there.....they won't fit in those newrocks no matter how hard you squeeeeze! N dnt park yer cat on duble yellow lines!! Catch yi'z!! MWAH X

Voodoo under 18s on a Saturday night, that's my scene, and I love it!
What all these people are saying is...well...true, the music HAS got more varied (dance music...yes, in a rock/metal club...) But you have to realise, that isn't really the cathouse's fault, everyone has more varied tastes these days, imagine being a DJ in a place with 752 people and trying to play things they will all like! :S
Take it from me, I DJ'd with Framie one night (just helping out. i'm not trying to show off or anything here) But trust me it's not as easy as it looks.
Anyway, apart from that, there is still the usual music being played as well, it's not like it turned into some mad Dance/rave club or anything, maximum ten minutes a night of dance beats and suddenly half the alternative nation is crying.
I have to admit the upstairs toilets are quite often out of order, thats something the cathouse COULD do to improve itself. But one night last halloween the cathouse was short staffed as they didn't expect sunday night to be so busy, so I helped out by being a toilet bouncer for a night and friggin hell how thick are children?
My friend and I had to unblock a bunch of sinks by ourself because we left it alone for TEN minutes and we come back to find some bored loser has taken the rolls of bog roll from the cubicles and put it in the sink, and turned the tap on.
Great one guys. I bet THAT was GREAT fun, and SOO productive.

Anyway, the point i'm making is that even things like that are partly or mostly our own fault for vandalism and crap like that. Maybe you should all lay off a bit, huh?

That cathouse is a beacon for alternatives around the Glasgow area, unless you have access to edinburgh (mission, or someplace like that) then it's all we have, and we should take care of it.
Music changed to reflect requests, and toilets get broken because we brake them. The cathouse isn't as great as it COULD be, but it's not as bad as it's being made out to be.
Somehow (this may seem difficult for a lot of people to understand it seems...) my head doesnt explode when a bad song comes on because OTHER people like it and I dont. I take a seat, have a drink, talk to friends, you dont HAVE to listen to every song as if theres nothing else to do. try being social and making the best of it istead of moaning?

The catty was good for a long time but theres been a serious drop in standards in the last 6 months, fuckin trendy's! they want to go there coz it makes them seem 'cool', little shits. problem is that the managers don't care about style or image but about makin money so said little shits get their way and theres been NO good music for fuckin ages! i was there last saturday at the unders and the best they played was Guns N'Roses who are ok but that was it, no metallica, no zeppelin, it was frankly disgusting. They even played dance music AND NOT AS A JOKE!!!! i mean beyonce once in a while is good fun but so much crap is appauling. Bouncers are great though. i'm noticing a distinct drop in the amount of black in the q and am seeing way too much pink! When they played 'the rasmus' a couple of weeks ago my friends and i walked out in disgust, they're meant to play rock and metal not fuckin pop disguised in black!!!!!!! SHAMELESS MONEY GRABBING CUNTS

If you never tried it, how do you know you wont like it?
The image of a moshing heavy metal sweat pit couldnt be further from the truth.
Easily the friendliest club in town with a great atmosphere every night. 2 floors for different styles of rock. Cheap drink and always loads of bands on, new and headliners.
Any time ive taken someone who hadnt been before, they were delightfully surprised.
My fav place!!!

I do believe that The Cathouse must be raking it in, CPl as a whole must be rolling in it, so why not just spend a little on the Cathouse? New toilets or a least fix the current ones! Invest some mullah in air conditioning as, its not only the heat, have you ever smelt the eau de cathouse at three in the morning? Yum. Enough on the need of a general overhaul, theres the new breed of so called moshers or rockers. I love ther Cathouse, been going there for just about 10 years now, and I think the people that go are totally different from years ago. Get this, an "alternative club" so why if you walk in not looking like Avril Lavigne or one of her skater boys then you get that condesending glare. Just want to say, I'm different, thats why I like the Cathouse. So to all these people that look at me and my pal for having blonde curly hair and wearing pink ra-ra skirts and tutu's cos, THATS JUST US BEING US.
Think that the Catty is in serious need of a good rival rock club so it'll maybe buck its ideas up.
Dave Ross may be a genuis but he's as tight as a ducks arse

Do u know, I can almost guarentee that the Cathouse is the one club in Glasgow where u have about a 99.9% chance of getting absolutely no hassle, from anyone! Brilliant! Well almost.

Unless you dress to "type" then expect a few "they're not from round here" style glances, as its pretty much ALL regulars. Still if thats the worst you can expect, bring it on.

Female bar staff, quite scary. Male bar staff, very friendly. Lots of lipstick lesbianism and pseudo alternative kids upstairs. Noisy rock music and dark, confusing layout thoughout. Ive gotten lost many a time amidst the really-should-be-at-home-at-this-time-on-a-Saturday-ni ght-at-my-age long-haired rockers. Its all good, clean fun though. Enjoy!

Cathouse is a great place to go, to hang around with friends, to listen to a greta variety of GOOD music, and meet some damn hot girls :)

Also a good place to get away from the neds, as when I was forced to visit trash a number of times, I was squared every time by some wee hard man.

If your up for a good night, some skanking, some moshing, whatever it is, and of course, your under 18 (Only 16 so can\'t comment on the overs, then speand your 5 quid wisely (or 3 quid if you have a voodoo card) and come along to catty :D

Eastern-European view of it. Well OK, been there done that. I hopped in for a while, but it was kinda disappointing. Of course I was more into observing (critically) an 'alternative night club', the kind which we do not actually have here, than really enjoying it. That probably makes me biased. The room is too small. Too hot. About prices: can't judge about them really, as I didn't have a chance to visit ALL similar places within 4 evenings (tho I did my best), and I had real trouble counting all these coins from the beginning to the end of my stay, so I let the bartenders do it for me most of the time. But what really made me wonder, is that if it's a 'metal-rock-hiphop-punk' kinda club, then why is that house music going on in there?
Altogether, nothing to write home about. Anyway, keep up the good work.
Cheers from Estonia.
