Dublin
Dublin, capital, and largest city in the Republic of Ireland, home to over 1 million people, and God knows how many pubs.
It is said that "God created alcohol to prevent the Irish from taking over the Earth", and you can believe this with the number of pubs in the city, over 900, so it’s not surprise that the Irish are famed for their drinking.
Licensing in Dublin is more like Scotland than England, since pubs are regularly open until 2 or 3am, so many pubs are huge with dance floors making them half pub, half club. So if you see a listing in pubs that should be in clubs and vice versa let us know so we can fix it.
The people of Dublin are amongst the friendliest in the world, although the bouncers are perhaps the exception to the rule. New laws passed in Dublin prevented them from refusing people entry for being too young, however, they don’t need to give you a reason so they can just refuse you entry and not tell you why. Yeah, that’s so much better than being refused for being under 21...
The great pubs and clubs, as well as the friendly locals gives Dublin the most amazing nightlife, and one tip, if you’re male and Scottish you can’t go wrong wearing a kilt. :-)
