Custom Venue Lists

A new feature to the site is the ability for members to alter the venue lists which appear within the city pages of the site. Especially for the larger cities, the full list of venues can be quite long so instead of including every venue by default only a selection is shown. If there are too many venues to list the default selection of venues is determined by the rating given by visitors, in order starting with the highest rated.

Members have the option to change the selection of venues which are shown while they are logged in. As with the default, depending on the number of venues to be shown they may be ordered by rating, however members can change the following

• The number of venues to show for each type
• The minimum rating of venue to show
• Whether to show only venues with a
  • map
  • main review
  • reader review(s)

In both the default and member-chosen selection users have the option of showing the full list in alphabetical order. This setting is remembered for a single visit to the site and can be changed for each venue type individually.

Additional choices will be added in the future. One technical point to note - lists are regenerated daily and so may be slightly out of date.
